Do it anyway xoxo

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”

Mirror, mirror on the wall xoxo

Feeling uncomfortable in my own body was a nightmare. I had suddenly ballooned and I did not know what to do!!

I had lost control and felt as if I were walking around inside a stranger's body; nothing seemed to fit and my stomach was showing through my clothes!!! (Insert hand over face) I ran (let me tell the truth... lol...I walked to the bus stop and got the bus a few stops to the west end).

...Hunting for control pants as if they were my lifeline, I found a good fit! Thank God I thought... They worked...

Control pants were not the answer, yes they covered up what I did not want to see but they did not deal with the issue. As time went on they began to hide a little less and I had to make the decision to change, the decision to be the best me I could be and hiding wasn’t the answer.

My first step was to get my mind to think long term, what were the consequences of overeating, I then had to take a good look at myself, strip out of my clothes and look at the direction my body was taking once I had done these I had to acknowledge the consequences all this had on my emotions, self esteem and self worth. It was a lot to take in but I had to force myself to do it. Doing this encouraged me to make better decisions for me, my health, body and self esteem.

Big, medium or small, boy or girl, black, white, or asain, 18, 21 or 41 if you're someone who is blasé about your health, I encourage you to take it seriously, speak to a family member or a doctor if you have any concerns because it could mean life or death. xoxo

The beauty of a woman by Audrey Hepburn xoxo

"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows and the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."

Fabulosity Awaits You xoxo

Creating a new hairstyle is never easy because it’s so much more than a hairstyle you want!!!

Let’s be honest ladies, you want a style that oozes sexy, easy to manage and highlights everything from the arches in your perfectly threaded eyebrows to the fullness of your supple lips! I know; I’ve been there... Hours in front of the mirror, browsing Google Images and franticly searching magazines as your stylist asks you; ‘What would you like to do today?.’

In that moment your heart sinks, you have no idea and as much as you adore your stylist you don’t want them to have complete control over your pride and joy; so you leave with the same hairstyle you left with on your last visit because it’s your safest option!

But after the storm there is joy!!!  I am sharing and will continue to share this fabulosity! Below are a few hairstyles I love because they are all so sexy.

Enjoy x

Banana Tree... xoxo

With a name like Banana Tree we didn’t know what to expect. Situated in the heart of West Hampstead my eyes swept over the scenery as the door was politely held open for me. Stepping over the threshold I immediately warmed to the cosy atmosphere. The lights were dimmed and it felt as if I had escaped to a secret place. Small enough for two and large enough for a crowd my eyes danced as I peeked over the shoulders of the already comfortable guests and gazed at the dishes set before them. Glancing back I smiled to my friend as a sign of approval; she agreed we had discovered another treasure. As we sat down I couldn’t help but notice the volume of people as they slotted into their seats as comfortably as they would have at home.  The service was prompt; within minutes of being seated a waiter was at our table recommending drinks. We ordered and waited moments for our drinks and no more than 10 minutes for our food to arrive; excellent service considering it was a busy Saturday evening.

Admittedly Asian cuisine is one of my favourites but all personal feelings aside the food was delicious! Full of aromatic spices and reasonably priced, it couldn’t help but woo me.

Well done Banana Tree.

Achieve and maintain luscious lips with this simple guide! xoxo

I love my lips, they are one of my favourite features and because they are so important to me, I protect them. Our lips are prone to become dry in both warm and adverse weather conditions so it is important to shield them from the affects of good and bad weather. Exfoliating once a week will remove dead skin and help maintain soft, smooth lips. To exfoliate your lips you will need to mix sugar and a few drops of water until the mixture is at an applicable texture. Once this is complete cover your lips with the mixture and using a soft toothbrush; lightly brush your lips applying small circular motions. Once you are satisfied this is complete, splash a some cold water on your lips, to remove the remaining sugar; then rub a coat of Vaseline on your lips to lock in the moisture.

Now that you have completed the exfoliation process you need to maintain your lips so they stay soft and smooth. To do this you will need to apply a thick coat of Vaseline before you go to bed at night, this is important because the Vaseline will moisturise your lips while you sleep. Further to this when you wake up in the morning gently wipe away any excess Vaseline. After brushing your teeth splash your lips with cold water and apply a coat of Vaseline to your lips to lock in moisture.

Important

It is important you use a soft toothbrush, using a medium of hard toothbrush is too harsh for your lips and can result in your lips being permanently discoloured.

Try not to lick your lips, instead apply Vaseline or a lip balm if you think they are becoming dry. Licking your lips does not apply moisture to your lips it dries then out.

Drinking lots of water is a good way to improve your digestion, stay healthy and make your lips look plumper and smoother

Pick & Mix xoxo

Pick and mix is a feel good task I created. It is simple and consists of all the things you love because you will be the author of your own ‘pick & mix’.

What you will need...

o   A container including lid. (A small food container would be perfect)
o   One sticky label or an A4 piece of paper torn in half and cello tape if you are not using a sticky label.
o    A marker pen – colour of your choice o   A notepad or 10 – 20 sheets of paper lined or unlined.
o   A biro o   A quite place, somewhere you will be uninterrupted for an hour or two.

Now that you have all your bits and pieces this is what you need to do...

o   Using your marker pen, write ‘Things that make me happy/ things I love to do’ on your label.
o   Stick your label to your box.
o   Now it’s time to fill your box. Using your biro take your note pad or pieces of paper and write all the things you love or like to do, things that make you happy and make you feel good and why! After you have written each thing rip it from the paper fold it up and place in your box. Fold it so you can’t see what is written on the paper. Continue to repeat this until your can’t think of anything else.

Here are some examples of things I have written and placed in my box;

o   Washing my hair in a hot shower, I love the feeling of the water... From the ends of my hair to the soles of my feet; it’s amazing.
o   Bands/ solo artists/ open mic/spoken word in small intimate venueso   Black Jacko   Watching old school movies e.g. Grease, Brewster’s Millions, Dirty Dancing, Pretty woman, Rain man, Boomerang, When a man loves a woman etc
o   Eating and drinking cocktails at well established restaurants o   Painting my nails, red, nude, aluminous pink and French manicure on my natural nails... I like them short and squared
o   A candle lit bubble bath, it relaxes me and gives me time to stop and think.
o   Going to a far away island where the weather is hot the sea is clear blue, the people are welcoming and the food is good.
o   Having ladies nights in, food drinks, games and movies.

Once you have exhausted your feel good options mix up your pick & mix and put the lid on it, or dive in and find out what exciting thing awaits you...

On a regular basis I go to my pick & mix box. I shake it about and pick two or three this to do that day, the best thing about it is a automatically know I am going to love it because it’s made up of things I love to do and make me feel good. Get it? The purpose of pick & mix is for you to enjoy the quality time you spend with yourself and the time you spend with your friends, it’s a place to go for inspiration, variety in your weekend/ lifestyle.

What are you waiting for? Have a go!!!!I hope you are inspired xoxo

How to explain the OFFSIDE RULE to Women xoxo

Ok, so you’re standing in a single file queue in Topshop, smiling and tapping your feet because you’ve just picked up the most beautiful dress you have seen in ages and can’t wait to get to the till. The girl in front of you realises she doesn’t have her purse, prompting you to look for yours; only to realise you don’t have yours either!!! But there is hope! Your friend is at the back of the queue and she is offering to throw her purse to you, you can’t queue jump until the purse has been thrown! You let out a shout because you successfully caught your friend’s purse allowing you to quickly dodge the girl in front & arrive breathless at the desk.
Thats the offside rule!!!
I hope this helps, xoxo

Weave, wax, thread, pluck, tan, massage, manicures, pedicures and everything in-between... Summertime is almost here!!!! xoxo

The sun has begun to peep through the clouds, the clocks are due to go forward on Sunday 27th March and the birds will be singing before the ringing of your alarm interrupts your sleep. Yes ladies, summertime is almost here, but what does this mean? Braving the cold is finally over,  no more flinching at the gush of wind that challenges your every step, no more running to escape the sudden downfall of rain, no more wearing legging under jeans or layers upon layers under coats the time has come for the sun to hug your every step.

It’s time to put away the coats, hats, scarves and gloves and step into the high heels, vibrant dresses, sunglasses and everything feminine. It’s time to make the streets of your city your catwalk!
But in order to feel completely fabulous in our femininity we must be ready from head to toe...

Treat yourself to...

Water, yes as much water as you possibly can each and every day, it is good for you, will energise you and flush your insides out resulting in flawless glowing skin (bare in mind, water cleanses the body so your skin has the potential to get worse during the internal detox before getting better).

Thread, pluck or wax your eyebrows. Nothing beats a well shaped clean finished eyebrow; it will tidy up your overall appearance.

Wax, shave or hair removal every necessary area, the results will speak in volumes.
Treat yourself to a full body massage, a good massage will probably put you to sleep but it is worth it! Your body will be completely relaxed, put a smile on your face and a bounce in your step.

Book an appointment and slip into that big leather sofa, allowing every nail and toe nail to be taken care of... Let them scrub away the walks of life from under your very feet as you relax.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, a love story for the soul...xoxo

Tongues were wagging and Redeeming Love was the topic EVERYONE was talking about! Curiosity and excitement drove me to search Amazon, I wanted to know all about it and why it had, had such a profound affect!

For little over a week I waited patiently (with the exception of the ‘why was it taking so long’ rants!) Finally it arrived, neatly wrapped in a brown cardboard box it lay on my bed starring back at me, I couldn’t conceal my grin; my hands and body launched forward ripping open its package. I stood and starred at its front cover taking it all in, I opened the front page slowly and carefully as I began to read.

Looking at my bedroom clock I realised it had just gone 2am, I couldn’t believe how quickly time had passed but I didn’t want to put it down; I had to be up for work in a few hours, I told myself I would finish the next few sentences and go to sleep... I got to sleep a few minutes before 4am. Over the next few days every free moment I had was spent with Redeeming Love.. I read it on my way to work, during my lunch break, on my way home from work and as soon as I got home; it had taken my heart hostage, I simply couldn’t get enough, I had fallen in love.

The tale of Redeeming Love is so much more than a flow of ink on a series of pages, it brought life to my imagination, it reinforced true love exists and spoke to my heart in a language it understood that true love saves, stands and fights for you.

I cried, felt frustrated and got excited at the rollercoaster tale. It encouraged me to question my choices, my motives and the motives of others.

I give Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers 5 out of 5 and recommend you read it. I have read it twice and it was even better the second time! xoxo

40 days and 40 nights...!!!

My last night of food freedom is upon me! (Insert discipline) for 40 days and 40 nights I will be giving up things that I love for things that I love not so much... Lent has arrived!

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent in the Christian tradition; it is the season of preparation for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Lent is a time of sacrifice for Jesus, it is a time for repentance, communion with God, thanks-giving and abstaining from things we enjoy i.e. television, food, internet etc. The forty days represent the time that, Jesus spent in the desert before the beginning of his public ministry, where he endured temptation by Satan.

Biblical scriptures for reference;

See you on the other side of your spiritual growth! Happy fasting... xoxo

Take control of your finances... xoxo

Money is a powerful tool and having it means we can enjoy benefits such as houses, cars, food, clothes, shoes, holidays, and so much more... But with so many things on offer how do we do this without a little overspending here and there? How do we stay on top of our finances? How do we regain control?
Here are some great tips from Lloyds TSB to help you stay on top of your finances and if you are in debt these tips are equally as good, they will provide you with a structure to help you overcome your mountain xoxo

What's coming in?
Try keeping a spending diary for a month. You'll be surprised! Start by jotting down all the money coming in to your household each month, such as salary, tax credits, child benefit, etc.
What's going out?
Next, you should write down all your household’s basic living expenses. This includes regular commitments, everyday spending and occasional spending. To help you do this, use your bank statements.
Bank online
If you have access to the internet, most banks allow you to manage your bank account online. You should log in regularly to check your spending and balance. You can also go online to view your statements and/or print them off if you need to. Doing this will help you identify your incomings and outgoings. You should always check your bank statements for anything amiss and cross-reference it with your list of outgoings.
Ring-fence your money
Open an additional current account so you can ring-fence enough money to cover your bills from one account and leave the rest in your other account for everyday spending. You’ll always have enough money to cover your bills, and you’ll know how much you have left to spend.
Spread it out
You may find that spreading larger payments over the year (for example, your car insurance or TV licence fee) makes more sense for you. Setting up a monthly direct debit to cover these payments can help you avoid the burden of a large lump sum, which can be helpful if money is tight.
Start saving your money
If you have some spare money at the end of the month, you should think about starting to save. Because whatever crops up in your life, whether it’s an unexpected bill, a sudden repair job, or a shock redundancy, having some savings squirreled away can help take care of it. There are several different ways to save, but if you want to access your money at short notice, then an instant access savings account is a good choice.
Think ahead
Avoid impulse buying! However, you need to be aware of your weak spots and allow for a little unplanned spending now and again. If you can plan your spending in advance, you're less likely to buy things you don't need or can't afford.
Bank that bonus
Put part of any pay rises or bonuses into a savings account, as long as you don't have any outstanding debt. If you do have debts, you should think carefully about whether you ought to pay these off before you ring-fence your extra money. If you’re a tax payer, you could make the most of your yearly tax-free savings allowance by opening an ISA.
Live a cash-based life
Consider withdrawing a fixed amount from your account at the beginning of the week and using this for all impromptu spending. But don't carry too much cash at any one time – only take what you think you will need each day to cover small purchases.
Monitor your budget
Once you've completed a budget plan, you'll immediately become more aware of your outgoings and what you have available to spend. You should keep track of your budget each month and make sure you update it whenever things change (for instance, if your utility bills go up during the winter months).

Remember, this is a process; try not to be too hard on yourself if it doesn’t go exactly as you planned, giving it your best effort is what matters. Good luck lovelies’ xoxo
